Do I need to enter Spouse Information?

Your tax return will have to show your spouse's information as you can see on the first page of T1.
Even though you are not preparing his/her return in the same account, you still need to add at least the following:

  1. Name,

  2. Social insurance number,

  3. Date of birth - if he/she is not over 65 and not under 18, you can put any date in between, the date itself is not part of the tax return,

  4. Worldwide net income - it is necessary if you are applying any tax or social benefit, like spouse transfer, CCTB, GST/HST, medical expenses supplement etc. Try your best to estimate. If you are certain that you are not going to claim any of these, you can tick "Don't know and don't care".
